# Story Staking (IP)

In this post, we’ll walk you through everything you need to know about staking your IP tokens.

### 🔹 What You’ll Need

Before staking, make sure you have:

1. **IP Tokens** in your wallet.
2. A **compatible wallet** (e.g., MetaMask or any Story-supported wallet).

### 🔹 How to Stake IP Tokens

Follow these simple steps:

#### **1. Visit the Staking Dashboard**

Go to the official **Story Staking Portal** as below.

#### 2. Connect Your Wallet

Click **“Connect Wallet”** and select your preferred option (e.g., MetaMask or any Story-supported wallet). Approve the connection.

#### 3. Choose a Validator

Browse the list of Story validators. Validators help secure the network, and their performance can impact your staking rewards. (Let’s say you pick us, **KysenPool:** <https://staking.story.foundation/validators/0x3e13a106de45bc493bed240913dd3f501af0beac>)

Click on ’Stake’ Button, a Stake IP window will popup.

👉 Tip: Look for validators with strong uptime and fair commission rates.

#### 4. Enter the Amount to Stake

Specify Staking Period and Amount to stake on 'Stake IP’ popup window.

**Note:**

1\. KysenPool is a Locked validator node, so only option for 'Staking Period' will be "*Flexible (0.5x rewards)- Unstake anytime*” so one could stake unlocked IP tokens to a Locked validator, but will only half of the normal reward from a ‘Unlocked’ validator.

2\. Amount to stake is 1024 IP tokens or more, but doesn’t have to be multiple of 1024.&#x20;

(Just FYI, there is a proposal in discussion to lower the 1024 IP tokens minimum staking requirement)

#### 5. Confirm and Stake

Confirm Transaction with MetaMask wallet.

After Staking is successful, there should be a ‘View transaction’ link added to the 'Stake IP’ popup window.

Click ‘View transactions’ to see staking transaction details on Explorer.\
**Note:**\
If staking is successful, the staked IP tokens will be transferred to the ‘IPTokenStaking’ smart contract from your wallet.

**Congratulations! You’ve just delegated IP tokens to a validator.**

### 🔹 Monitoring Your Staking

After staking, you can:

* Click **"My Delegations"** at the top bar on the staking dashboard to track your delegations in real time.
* Click **"My Transactions"** at the top bar on the staking dashboard to track your transactions in real time.
